Categories: Important Info for Parents/ Guardians

If a participant must have medication of any kind at or during practices and/or games, including but not limited to inhalers, parents must either maintain these medications in their possession at all times during NBYFL activities and facilitate the participant's use; or give the medications to a participant's coach or Team First Aid Responder in a ziplock bag with written instructions and authorization to administer as needed/directed.

It is very important that medications of any kind not be left in the possession of a participant, but be supervised in support of a participant's needs.  If a participant is taking any medications or in need of inhalers, etc. it is imperative that the participant's coaches be informed even if the parent is maintaining the medications. It would also be wise to let the Team's First Aid Responder know.

Exceptions to this policy can be reviewed and discussed with the President of the Board of Officers. The underlying purpose of this policy is to make sure that Coaches are aware of all his/her participants' conditions and that treatments remain in the safe keeping of a parent, a coach, or the team's First-Aid Responder.
