    1. The Head Coach of any Level shall have the authority to suspend, bench or award any lesser punishment to any player on his or her team, whenever, in the Head Coach’s opinion, such player’s conduct creates an unnecessary risk of injury to others, impedes good order and discipline, is contrary to published rules and Code of Conduct applying to all players on his or her team or is otherwise detrimental to the best interests of the League. No player shall be subjected to corporal punishment by any Head Coach or other NBYFL representative, volunteer, participant or member.

      2. The Board of Officers shall have the authority to suspend, discharge, or otherwise discipline any player, coach, member, referee, league official, parent or other person whose conduct is in violation of NBYFL's Codes of Conduct, Rules, Policies and Procedures, and/or at such time as it is considered by the Board of Officers to be in NBYFL’s best interest.

        1. Persons dismissed, barred, or suspended for longer than a game period shall have the right to request an appeal hearing before the Board of Officers. Written requests for appeals must be delivered to an Officer of the Board of the league. Upon receipt of such request, a hearing of the Board will be scheduled.
        2. In the event of disciplinary procedure involving a player or other person under the age of 18, that person's parent or guardian and coach, if player, shall be required to attend the hearing with the person concerned.
        3. The Board of Officers may impose any of the following penalties in which, in their opinion, appears to match the severity of the offense:
          1. WARNING: The offending person is to be advised of the offense and further advised that the repetition of the offense will result in a more severe penalty.
          2. BENCHING: Offending player will be benched during a game or games, but will be allowed to practice and suit-up on the sidelines with his/her team at game time.
          3. SUSPENSION: The offending person is to be advised in writing that he/she has been suspended from all league activity for a specific number of games or days.
          4. DISMISSAL: The offending person is to be advised in writing that he/she has been dismissed from the league for the remainder of the current season.
          5. BARRING: The offending person is to be advised in writing that he/she has been barred from current and future participation within the League permanently or for a specific number of years.
