1. Phone. Officers, Coaches, League Staff and Volunteers who will be communicating on behalf of NBYFL will receive an NBYFL phone account via Grasshopper. This account is provided for several reasons:

    1. personnel can keep their personal phones private.
    2. NBYFL phone accounts can role over to new seasons and programs - providing continuity.
    3. NBYFL business is managed and conducted responsibly and in compliance with the standards imposed by our non-profit corporation and exempt tax status.
    4. Phone extensions and mailboxes should be setup to forward to your best contact # as well as setup to include a personal voice greeting for callers who wish to leave you a message.

2. Email. Officers, Coaches, League Staff and Volunteers who will be communicating on behalf of NBYFL will receive an NBYFL email account. This account is provided for several reasons:

    1. personnel can keep their personal emails private.
    2. NBYFL email accounts can role over to new seasons and programs - providing continuity.
    3. NBYFL business is managed and conducted responsibly and in compliance with the standards imposed by our non-profit corporation and exempt tax status.
    4. Email Salutations should include:
      1. Name and NBYFL title
      2. Newton Braves Youth Football League
      3. PO Box 226, Andover, NJ 07821
      4. 973.862.5052 (ext if you wish)
      5. Your League Email Address
      6. www.NBYFL.com

3. Officer Communications. Officers must use private, secure and separate emails accounts when conducting League Business. As a best practice, Officers should only use the League's email accounts to conduct League business. Board Members must be sensitive to this policy when communicating and participating in League business as an elected Officer of the League. It is up to each Officer to be discreet and respect the confidentiality and potentially sensitive nature of any communication and business being conducted on behalf of the League.


4. Account management. Email and phone accounts are to be managed, maintained and purged regularly by the assigned personnel. Important email messages (containing contracts, contact info, expense or league business information) should be moved from your inbox and saved on the server in a separate folder.

    5. League Staff. League staff and personnel, in accordance with NBYFL’s Best Practice Standards, should use their league email and phone for all league communications.

      6. Personal communications. Email and phone should not be used for personal communications, nor to forward, send or receive non-league related information.

        7. Profanity. The use of profanity, inappropriate or offensive language in any league communications is prohibited.

          8. Letterhead.  NBYFL has official league Letterhead for business use and purposes. The use and standards of the League’s letterhead is managed by the League Admin.

            9. Brochures, marketing and promotional Materials. All communications on behalf of the League not otherwise covered herein should be approved by the President and adhere to and conform to NBYFL’s standards in appearance and content.


            10. Coaching Best Practices:

                1. No favorites, or favoritism! No "Daddy Ball"!  Coaches should not directly coach or focus on their own kids in practice or in play.

                2. Have a set way and structure to running your practices. Be prepared before you arrive to practice.

                3. Don't plan your practices ad hoc when you arrive at practice. Have a plan.

                4. Don't eat or snack in front of the kids. Take water breaks only when the kids get water breaks.

                5. Treat your players and cheerleaders with the same respect, courtesy and consdieration you expect from them.

                6. Stay focused on your practice, the SAFETY of your team and squad is paramount.

                7. Be aware of and look for dehydration signs or injury in your participants.
