Total Gage Length/Tool Offset

To save having to measure the stick-out of an endmill with a ruler or caliper, we have added a new functionality to the Total Gage Length field on the setup page.

Assuming the projection of the toolholder is correct in that section (e.g. (1.75"), by entering the tool length offset (e.g. 3.000") in the Total Gage Length field, SpeedCast will automatically calculate the endmill stick-out and enter that into the appropriate field in the tool section (in the above example it would be 1.250").

The machinist will know the tool offset measurement or can quickly find it in the machine's tool offset table like the one below:

Change the the tool length offset to a positive number and enter it into the Total Gage Length field.
