Having difficulty targeting endmills with a tap-test.

If you are having trouble accurately hitting small endmills with the tap-test hammer try choking up above the top of the handle and holding it very loose in your hand. Extra care must be taken to retract quickly after making contact.

The "aim and tap", like the trial hit on a nail head with a hammer followed by a stronger blow, will result in a "double hit" error in MillMax. You can replicate this method to increase accuracy by very lightly resting the hammer tip against the target spot on the endmill, waiting a beat, then retract it a short distance and strike the tool with short, quick motion. Like tapping a bell. If you are getting double hits, you may be applying too much pressure when resting the tip against the target and it is causing a trigger.
