Remote Monitor/Viewer Options for MillMax

Sometimes you have to place your PC outside the working envelope of the machine and the screen is not easily seen from the spindle. There are a couple of remote viewing and voice control options you can use.

If you tap test a lot of tools, it will ease pressure on your back by being able to see the tap results in this Vufine viewfinder that attaches to your safety or prescription glasses. It connects to your computer with a HDMI cable and mirrors its screen. While the image is very small, it will clearly show under and over, as well as, double hits.

You can also use your iPhone as a remote monitor with the Duet Display app. It requires a cable to connect. We have tested this and it works fine, a little challenging to get setup the first time. There is a wireless version, but you must be on the same wifi network for it to use and that may not be available on a shop floor. We have not tested it using your iPhone hotspot.

Use at least a 10' USB to Lightning cable (the same length as the accelerometer and hammer cables)

VOICE CONTROL

When you are inside the working envelope of a machine tool, tap testing its spindle, having to exit to do simple commands on the PC can be frustrating and exhausting. With a remote viewfinder on your safety glasses or using the iPhone as a remote monitor, we can now use voice commands and confirm they were executed from inside the machine enclosure. You can use ear buds with a microphone plugged into your PC.

You can add hands-free voice commands to MillMax when running on Windows 10. For example, you can go through the Practice routine by saying "3" or "practice". Do the practice taps until alert is green and say "OK". Then say "4" or "measure" to start tapping the tool. Say "Coherence" or "Frequency FRF" to view accuracy of your measurements, the say "OK" to proceed to the next axis.
