How do I know if I have a file with no tap-test measurement?

Categories: Troubleshooting MillMax

Because MillMax is designed to automatically save files whenever you make any edit, as well as a tap-test, you can end up with a file that has no measurement. You will likely have two files with similar names, one has a tap-test measurement and one does not. Here is how you can tell.

If you open the file and the Real Tool Direct graph is completely blank.

Also, if the graph has a very generic looking graph with smooth arcs.

This is how that graph should look with a tap-test measurement. Note they will all look different, but the line will not be entirely smooth.

You can also check the Coherence, or the quality of the measurement screen. Begin by clicking on the Plot tab.

Then click on Coherence/Flexibility.

The click on All.

If the upper box is blank, this file does not have a measurement.

This is what a file with a tap-test measurement should look like.
